Private Tutoring Bali · International families
English-speaking tutors for international families with children aged 4 to 17. Personal teaching at your home or villa, matched to your child’s curriculum, with a written plan and clear progress updates.

When looking for a private tutor in Bali, start with one example of what your child finds difficult. Is reading slow, is homework taking the whole evening, or does a confident student freeze during tests? A recent piece of work and your child’s own explanation are more useful than a broad request to improve everything.
Ask how a proposed tutor would approach that difficulty, what experience they have with the age group, and how they will communicate with you. Review the individual profile and ask which checks have been completed. A good match also needs a realistic time slot, a comfortable teaching language and an approach your child can engage with.
Two children in the same year group can be working towards different expectations. Share the school, subject, curriculum and current topic before matching. For an exam course, include the awarding body, syllabus code, examination year and level where applicable. This helps the tutor use the right terminology and practise the tasks your child will actually encounter.
For younger learners, bring a reading book, spelling list or recent maths task. For secondary students, a marked assignment can reveal whether the main obstacle is subject knowledge, interpreting a question or explaining an answer. Start with a manageable goal instead of covering every subject at once. Subject-specific and curriculum-specific support can then be planned together.
An hourly rate is one part of a tutoring budget. Ask for the proposed session length, frequency, travel arrangements and inclusions in writing. Share your available days and budget so lessons fit around school, family time and activities. We confirm the appropriate service and rate in your quote before booking.
When an exam is approaching, identify the priority topics, time remaining and practice your child can realistically manage. Agree on a review date before booking a large block of lessons. If the workload becomes tiring or school priorities change, your coordinator can help adjust the plan.
For lessons at home or in a villa, share the exact area and your preferred time window. Travel feasibility depends on the address and schedule, not just the distance on a map. Your written quote confirms the location, travel inclusion and any additional travel cost. Tell us if you will move accommodation during the placement so the arrangements can be checked again.
Choose a quiet, well-lit table with materials ready and agree parent or carer availability before the lesson. Online lessons need a stable connection, a suitable screen and a way to share schoolwork. The choice should reflect your child’s age, attention and learning task as well as convenience. If you are unsure which format fits, describe the practical constraints when you enquire.
Prepare a small selection of recent work, any teacher feedback and one or two goals for the first session. Include something your child can already do comfortably, not only the hardest task. Let the tutor know about relevant learning needs and strategies that already help. You do not need to turn the introduction into another test.
The written plan and session notes give you a basis for reviewing the placement. Look for specific changes: explaining a method without prompting, correcting a familiar mistake, reading a passage with more understanding or starting a task more independently. Discuss examples of work and your child’s experience together. Grades alone cannot describe every change, and no tutor can promise a particular result.
Families arriving in Bali may need support between schools, help with a new curriculum or subject teaching alongside a parent-led homeschool programme. Share your expected length of stay, previous school programme and next likely destination. These details help us plan focused catch-up lessons or a more regular teaching schedule.
Keep recent reports, completed work and a record of topics covered together. For homeschooling, agree which subjects you or your educational provider will oversee, what the tutor will teach and how progress will be recorded. Private tutoring does not provide school enrolment or an accredited qualification. Confirm any examination and certification requirements with the relevant provider.
Start with your child’s subject, curriculum or learning needs. Explore the support available, then tell us about your school, year group and location so we can discuss a suitable tutor.

A familiar tutor and a clear routine can make learning more manageable, especially after a move or a change of curriculum. We agree on practical goals with you, build lessons around your child’s needs and keep you informed about their progress.

Our learning-support tutors work with children who have special educational needs (SEN), including ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and autism. They teach study strategies, structure and confidence.
Where a school agrees, we also provide shadow teachers: educators who support one child inside the classroom during the school day.
Note: We are tutors, not clinicians: we do not diagnose or treat, and tutoring never replaces clinical assessment or therapy.
Private Tutoring Bali has supported families since 2020. Our tutor selection includes identity, qualification and reference checks, an interview and a demonstration lesson. Individual records confirm whether SKCK Indonesian police clearance has been obtained. Tutors also sign a conduct declaration and receive a child-protection briefing.
Our published fees are in Indonesian rupiah, with your rate and arrangements confirmed in writing before booking. We set realistic learning goals and explain where we can help, so you can make an informed decision about support for your child.
Your coordinator remains your point of contact throughout tutoring, from the first conversation to progress reviews and any changes to the plan.
