Who This Service Is For

We tutor students who attend international schools in Bali and need extra support with their studies. The students we work with usually fall into one of these groups:

  • Green School students who need support with the IB programme, including the Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, and Theory of Knowledge.
  • Canggu Community School (CCS) students who need help with the Cambridge IGCSE or A-Level curriculum.
  • Bali Island School (BIS) students who need support with the IB or IGCSE programmes.
  • Australian International School (AIS) students who need help with the Australian curriculum, including VCE, HSC, or WACE preparation.
  • Dyatmika School students who need support with the national or international programmes.
  • Students at other international schools in Bali who need subject-specific tutoring or general academic support.
  • Students transitioning between international schools who need to catch up on a different curriculum or adjust to a new teaching style.

Common Tutoring Needs for International School Students

  1. IB support: HL and SL subjects, Internal Assessment (IA), Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and exam preparation. The IB is demanding and many students need extra support.
  2. IGCSE support: Core and Extended papers, past paper practice, exam technique, and subject-specific tutoring. IGCSE exams are a major milestone.
  3. A-Level support: Advanced subjects, exam preparation, and university entrance. A-Level students need deep subject knowledge and strong exam skills.
  4. Australian curriculum support: VCE, HSC, WACE, and primary/secondary subjects. Australian curriculum students need support with assessment tasks and exams.
  5. Subject-specific tutoring: Maths, English, science, humanities, languages, and arts. Students who need help with one or more specific subjects.
  6. Transition support: For students moving between schools, curricula, or countries. We help them catch up, adjust, and settle into their new academic environment.
  7. Learning differences support: For students with ADHD, dyslexia, or autism who need individualised support in an international school setting.

How It Works

Free assessment (optional): We start with a 45-60 minute assessment where the tutor meets your child, reviews their current level, and identifies the specific topics or skills that need attention. This is not a test. It is a conversation starter. We also review school reports, assessment results, and teacher feedback if available.

Weekly sessions: Most students have one or two sessions per week. Some students prefer intensive blocks before exams or assessments. We are flexible.

In your villa or online: We come to your villa in Canggu, Ubud, Sanur, Seminyak, or surrounding areas. We also offer online tutoring via Zoom for students who live outside our in-person areas or who prefer online learning.

Tutor matching: We match your child with a tutor who has experience with the specific curriculum and subjects they need. An IB tutor is different from an IGCSE tutor. We know the difference. We also match based on the student's personality and learning style.

Progress tracking: After every session, the tutor sends a brief update: what was covered, what the student understood, what needs more work, and what the next session will focus on. Every four weeks, you receive a formal progress report. We can also communicate with your child's school teachers if you request it.

School liaison: With your permission, we can communicate with your child's school teachers to align our tutoring with classroom teaching. We can review school reports, discuss assessment results, and ensure our tutoring supports what is happening at school.

What Makes Our International School Tutoring Different

  • Curriculum expertise: Our tutors know the curricula they teach. They understand the IB learner profile, the Cambridge assessment criteria, and the Australian curriculum standards. They are not generalists.
  • School-specific knowledge: We know Bali's international schools. We understand their teaching styles, assessment schedules, and expectations. We can align tutoring with what is happening at school.
  • Holistic support: We do not just teach subject content. We teach study skills, time management, exam technique, and stress management. We support the whole student, not just the academic part.
  • Flexible scheduling: We understand that international school students have busy schedules: extracurriculars, sports, travel, and family commitments. We offer flexible scheduling, including weekends and school holidays.
  • Transition support: For students moving between schools or countries, we provide catch-up tutoring, curriculum alignment, and emotional support. We help them settle in and succeed.
  • Learning differences awareness: We have tutors trained in ADHD, dyslexia, and autism support. We understand that international school students with learning differences need individualised, patient, and creative support.
  • Parent communication: We keep parents informed with regular updates, progress reports, and parent-tutor meetings. We believe parents are partners in their child's education.
