Who our tutors are
We match educators to your child’s subject, curriculum and learning needs. The proposed tutor’s written profile explains their relevant qualifications, experience and completed checks. Use it to ask specific questions before booking, including how the tutor would approach your child’s current work.
We coordinate the placement and its agreed responsibilities. Each one works to a written brief for your child, sends session notes after every hour, and reports into the same four-weekly progress summary you receive. When a family needs a change, we arrange it; the relationship is with us as much as with the tutor.
We have worked with families in Bali since 2020, across international school curricula and the Indonesian national curriculum, Kurikulum Merdeka.
How we select tutors
Selection has four stages, and a tutor passes all of them before working with a family. It begins with an application covering qualifications, teaching history and curriculum experience. We then review credentials and verify references, speaking to previous employers or schools rather than accepting written testimonials at face value.
The proposed tutor’s profile sets out identity and reference checks and any police clearance obtained. Finally, each candidate teaches a demonstration lesson, observed by a senior educator, so we can see how they explain, how they listen and how they respond when a student does not understand.
A tutor who clears the selection stages receives child-protection guidance before their first placement. The checks are the hiring process, and some candidates do not pass them.
Our tutor specialisations
The team covers the briefs Bali families actually bring us. Subject tutors work across maths, English, the sciences, coding and humanities, from primary years through to the final years of school. Curriculum specialists handle IB Diploma Higher Level and A-Level briefs, where the tutor must know the assessment criteria, the command terms and the marking culture, not just the content.
Our learning-support tutors work with children who have special educational needs (SEN), including ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and autism, teaching study strategies, structure and confidence. Where a school agrees, shadow teachers support one child inside the classroom during the school day.
Early years and primary tutors focus on reading, writing and number, often for children adjusting to a new school or curriculum after a move. Tell us the brief and we will tell you honestly whether we have someone suitable.
An honest limit: We are tutors, not clinicians: we do not diagnose or treat, and tutoring never replaces clinical assessment or therapy.
Our commitment to safety
Inviting an educator into your home requires more than a good interview. We follow a written child-safeguarding policy covering in-home sessions, supervision and conduct, and every tutor signs up to it before their first placement.
Practical safeguards sit alongside the policy. You receive the tutor’s written profile before the first session, so the person who arrives is the person you approved. Sessions take place in your home, villa or hotel, in a shared family space rather than behind a closed door. Session notes after every hour mean another adult always knows what was covered and how it went.
How we match tutors to families
A placement starts with a complimentary 30-minute discovery call on WhatsApp. You tell us about your child: the school, the curriculum, the subjects that have become hard, and the temperament that makes one adult a good fit and another a poor one.
We then write a brief and match against four criteria: subject knowledge, curriculum experience, personality and schedule. A strong mathematician who cannot explain patiently to a nervous nine-year-old is the wrong tutor for that child, however strong the CV.
After the discovery call, we confirm tutor availability and the expected time for your written profile. If the placement is not working, we change the plan or the tutor. That is ordinary for us.
Meet the team: how profiles work
You will not find a wall of smiling headshots here. Tutor profiles are shared privately with families during matching; public pages show roles and initials only. Our tutors teach children in their homes, and many also teach in schools; publishing names and photographs publicly is not something we do without a clear reason and individual consent.
What you receive instead is more useful than a photo grid. Before the first session we send you a written profile of the specific tutor we are proposing: their qualifications, curriculum experience, teaching approach, and the checks they have completed. You approve the actual person, in writing, before any paid hour.
