IB tutoring matched to your child’s programme: Middle Years foundations through Diploma subject papers, internal assessments and the extended essay. Sessions at your home or villa across Bali, or online when you travel.

An IB tutor Bali placement is built around the programme your child is in: Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP) or the Diploma Programme (DP). Unlike Cambridge IGCSE work, which centres on tiered final papers, IB sessions follow published criteria, command terms and the school’s assessment calendar.
Families usually call when a Diploma subject is slipping, when an internal assessment (IA) deadline is close, or when MYP criteria feel opaque after a curriculum move. Tell us the subject, the level (SL or HL) and the nearest deadline; that is the brief we place against.
“IB maths help” starts a conversation. “Analysis and Approaches HL, Year 12, weak in calculus” starts a placement. Name the subject group and level when you enquire.
Primary Years Programme (PYP), ages 3 to 12: inquiry-led. Tutoring here builds literacy, numeracy and study habits the MYP will assume, not Diploma paper craft.
Middle Years Programme (MYP), ages 11 to 16: eight subject groups and, in the final year, the Personal Project. Sessions teach criteria language and eAssessment habits where the school uses them.
Diploma Programme (DP), ages 16 to 19: six subjects at SL or HL, plus Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the extended essay and CAS. The maximum Diploma score is 45 points. This hub owns those DP mechanics. Date-backwards rehearsal across boards sits on our exam preparation page.
An IA is coursework marked by the school and moderated by the IB. Tutors explain the criteria, help your child plan the investigation, teach the skills the task requires, and give draft feedback against the published rubric.
The boundary is fixed: the work submitted is your child’s. We do not write, rewrite or polish an IA into shape. We follow the school’s academic integrity policy, and the IB’s, without exception.
For TOK and the extended essay we coach structure, research questions, citation and calendars. We support the school-appointed EE supervisor; we never replace authorship.
Founded in 2020, Private Tutoring Bali coordinates individual teaching in family homes and villas. We discuss programme and subject requirements when matching an IB tutor. Our selection process includes identity, qualification and reference checks, an interview and a demonstration lesson, with any police clearance recorded in the individual tutor’s file.
Where a brief mentions ADHD or another learning difference, we can place a learning-support educator who works within the IB workload. Tutors are not clinicians; tutoring never replaces assessment or therapy.
Educators travel to your home or villa. Your written quote confirms travel arrangements and any additional cost for your address. Start with your area page, then send the IB programme, subjects and levels.
A useful enquiry separates the programme from the immediate task. For PYP, tell us the year group and the literacy or numeracy priority. For MYP, share the subject, current unit and assessment instructions. For Diploma support, include the exact subject and level, the examination session and the nearest deadline.
For Mathematics, specify Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation. For English, include the course name and set texts. If the priority is an internal assessment or extended essay, share the school’s instructions and permitted support boundaries. Keep personal school records private until an appropriate sharing method has been agreed.
An approaching deadline can hide two different needs: understanding the subject and organising the remaining work. List the next submission, what the student has already completed and which part needs explanation. Then decide which tasks belong to the student, the school supervisor and the tutor.
Use a calendar for milestones and a separate topic list for revision. This avoids treating every tutoring session as an emergency coursework session. The school remains the authority on submitted work and permitted feedback; tutoring should fit those rules.
School-age IB tutoring uses Standard at IDR 500,000 per hour. Specialist briefs may use Master at IDR 1,000,000 per hour; Advanced is the company-training tier. The exact rate is confirmed in writing before the first session. Full detail is on the pricing guide.
Send the programme, subjects, levels and your area on WhatsApp. We reply within one working day. After the discovery call, we confirm tutor availability and the expected time for your written profile. If the first session is not right, tell us within 48 hours and we refund that session in full.
Tutors give structural guidance, research support and draft feedback against the published criteria. The work your child submits remains their own; we coach the process and never write the assessment.
Most families book in-person sessions at home or villa across Bali. Online sessions are available when you travel; online rates sit on the pricing guide.
We can place learning-support educators who use SEN-aware strategies inside the IB workload. We are tutors, not clinicians. See SEN support and ADHD support.
Subject to availability, HL briefs go to tutors with experience of the deeper syllabus. Maths HL families often start on maths tutoring.
Tell us the subject and the deadline. We say honestly whether the time remaining allows useful work, and what that work would be.
Sometimes, when subjects sit close together and the tutor’s brief covers both. More often we match one specialist per subject so depth is not diluted.
Middle Years briefs focus on criteria, command terms and foundations that feed into Diploma work. We match by programme stage, not a generic IB label.
Sessions follow the published tiers on the pricing guide. Specialist Diploma or coursework-support briefs may use Master; Advanced is for company training. The rate is confirmed in writing before you book.
