Who we hire

We hire educators, not CVs. The people who do well here have taught before, in a classroom, a tutoring practice or both, and can show it. They know at least one curriculum properly: IB, Cambridge IGCSE, A-Level, or a UK, US or Australian programme, and they can explain not just the content but the assessment.

We recruit across the briefs our families bring us: primary and early years, maths, English, sciences and humanities through to exam years, and learning support for children with special educational needs (SEN), including ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and autism. We also recruit shadow teachers, educators who support one child inside the classroom, where a school agrees.

Our team includes Indonesian and international educators. What matters is that you can teach, that you check out, and that you take working in a family’s home as seriously as we do.

Requirements and vetting

Our selection process includes identity, qualification and reference checks, an interview and a demonstration lesson. We record any police clearance obtained, and educators sign a conduct declaration and receive a child-protection briefing. During the demonstration, we look at how you explain a concept, listen to a learner and adjust your approach when they need more support.

How applying works

Send us a message on WhatsApp or email info@privatetutoringbali.com with your CV, the subjects and curricula you teach, your area of Bali, and your availability. We reply within one working day.

If your background fits a current need, we arrange an interview, then references and background checks, then the demonstration lesson. The process moves at the speed of the checks; thorough beats fast when children are involved.

If there is no suitable opening right now, we will tell you honestly rather than hold your details in silence.

What working with us looks like

You are employed and supervised, not listed and left. Before every placement you receive a written brief for the child. After each session you send a short note to the family: what was covered, how the child responded, and what to reinforce. Every four weeks you contribute to a written progress summary against the agreed goals.

Sessions take place at the family’s home, villa or hotel, or online, and travel within our regular in-person areas is accounted for in how placements are made. You work to a written child-safeguarding policy covering in-home sessions, supervision and conduct, and you are expected to know it, not just sign it.

The standards our tutors work to are set out in the teacher handbook, and the team page shows families exactly what we promise about you before you arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a teaching qualification?

Our tutors hold relevant degrees or teaching qualifications. Beyond the paper, you must pass reference verification, a background check and an observed demonstration lesson. The family-facing process is described on our team.

Which subjects are you recruiting for?

Primary and early years, maths, English, sciences and humanities through exam years, plus SEN learning support and shadow teaching. Needs change with family demand, so ask us directly.

How do I apply?

WhatsApp us or email info@privatetutoringbali.com with your CV, the subjects and curricula you teach, your area and availability. We reply within one working day.

Where do sessions take place?

At the family’s home, villa or hotel across our listed areas of Bali, or online. In-school shadow teacher roles are placed where a school agrees.

What safeguarding training is required?

Every tutor completes child-protection training and works under our written child protection policy before the first family session. Conduct and reporting standards apply on every placement.

How are tutor rates set for families?

Families are billed on our published rate card — Standard, Advanced or Master — confirmed in writing before the first session. The tiers are on the pricing guide; your placement rate is agreed when you join.

What happens after I send my CV?

We reply within one working day. Suitable applicants move into reference checks, a written record of any police clearance obtained, and an observed demonstration lesson before any family introduction.
