What drives the price of a tutor
Price follows who the tutoring is for and how specialised the brief is. Support for children sits on one package. Workplace English for companies sits on another. Specialist work is quoted against the expertise required. Travel time across Bali, preparation, marking and reporting all live inside the hourly figure.
The question worth asking is not only the rate but what the rate includes: preparation, materials, notes after the session, and who stands behind the arrangement if the tutor is ill or the match is wrong.
Observed market ranges in Bali
To give the market context honestly, the table below shows advertised ranges we observed in September 2026. They are observations, not quotes, and individual tutors set their own prices. Indonesian tutoring marketplaces advertise local tutors broadly between IDR 100,000 and IDR 250,000 per hour, while vetted one-to-one services for international curricula commonly advertise IDR 500,000 to IDR 1,000,000 per hour.

Hourly, packages and discounts
Most tutoring in Bali is billed by the hour. Some services offer prepaid blocks at a discount; the arithmetic is always worth checking, because a package should never cost more per hour than paying as you go. Our own scheme is simple: 5 percent off ten sessions, 10 percent off twenty, 15 percent off forty, stated on the rate card.
Travel, venues and cancellations
Ask three practical questions before you book anyone: Does the rate include travel to your area? Where do sessions happen, home, villa, online? And what does cancellation cost, at what notice? Policies vary widely, and the cancellation term is the one families discover at the worst moment.
For our service, the written quote confirms travel inclusion and any additional cost for your address before booking. Cancel or reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full.
Contracts and stopping
Long contracts transfer risk from the provider to the parent. A service confident in its matching does not need one. There is no minimum booking and no long-term contract with us; you can stop after any session. If the first session is not right, tell us within 48 hours and we refund that session in full.

Our rate card is published in full, in Indonesian rupiah: Standard IDR 500,000 per hour for children, Advanced IDR 800,000 per hour for companies, and Master IDR 1,000,000 per hour for specialist teaching briefs, subject to confirmed tutor qualifications. The exact rate for your brief is confirmed in writing before the first session.
