Who this support is for

Deaf and hard-of-hearing learners access schoolwork most clearly when teaching is visual, face-to-face and free of unnecessary noise. This page is for parents who need curriculum teaching adapted to how their child hears and communicates.

We support students across IB, Cambridge, UK, US and Australian programmes, including those who use hearing technology, sign, lip-reading, or a mix.

How tutoring helps, and where it stops

Tutors face the child, keep the room quiet, write key points down, and check understanding continuously. Content follows the school curriculum; access methods change.

We are tutors, not clinicians — we do not diagnose or treat. Audiology, hearing therapy and speech and language therapy belong with qualified clinicians.

What sessions look like

Sessions favour visual materials, written instructions and short spoken segments with confirmation. Where your child uses sign or AAC, tutors work with the methods already in place.

Fatigue from listening effort is real; breaks are planned before concentration collapses.

Boundaries

Tutoring is educational access support. It does not replace audiology or speech and language therapy, and we make no claims about hearing improvement.

A clear boundary: For clinical hearing care, we signpost families to qualified audiologists and therapists.

Frequently asked questions

Do tutors need to sign?

Where your child uses sign, tell us which system and level. We propose educators who can work within that setup, or we say honestly if we cannot.

How is this different from auditory processing support?

Hearing impairment involves reduced hearing. Auditory processing usually involves typical hearing with difficulty interpreting speech, especially in noise.

Where do sessions take place?

At your home or villa, or online. Your written quote confirms travel arrangements and any additional cost for your address.

How quickly can we start?

We reply within one working day and confirm the expected time for your tutor profile after the discovery call. We agree on the first session once you have reviewed the profile and confirmed the arrangements.

What if the tutor is not the right fit?

Tell us and we change the plan or the tutor. First-session refund terms apply if you notify us within 48 hours.

Where can I see hearing-impairment tutoring rates?

Full tiers and terms are on the pricing guide. Your rate is confirmed in writing before the first session.

Can tutoring sit alongside school access arrangements?

With your permission, tutors align with classroom strategies such as preferential seating and written instructions.
