Learning support
One-to-one dyscalculia support at your Bali villa, at your child’s pace. Educational support only: it does not replace clinical assessment or therapy.
Dyscalculia is a learning difficulty that affects a person’s understanding of numbers and maths concepts. It is not caused by low intelligence, poor teaching or lack of effort, and it often appears alongside dyslexia or ADHD. A child with dyscalculia may reason brilliantly about a problem yet stumble over the numbers inside it.
This page is for parents whose child finds number work persistently hard: weak number sense, unreliable times tables, difficulty with money, time and estimation. We support students across IB, Cambridge, UK, US and Australian programmes, at your home or villa, or online.
Tutoring rebuilds maths from the foundation the child actually has, not the one the syllabus assumes. Concepts are taught concretely first, with objects and pictures, and only then moved to symbols and mental methods, at whatever pace the understanding requires.
We are tutors, not clinicians. We do not diagnose dyscalculia, and no screening we carry out should be read as one. Formal identification is made by a qualified psychologist through a psycho-educational assessment, and we will signpost you there when the question is diagnostic.
Sessions are visual and concrete. Number lines, counters, base-ten materials and diagrams do the explaining; the child does the manipulating. New ideas are practised little and often, and older ideas are revisited before they fade.
Maths anxiety is addressed by design: tasks are set at a level the child can complete, and errors are treated as information, not failure. Where school maths moves faster than your child can consolidate, tutoring holds the foundations steady so classwork stops compounding the gap.
We match a tutor with experience of structured, concrete maths teaching, proposed within 24 hours of your enquiry. You read the profile before the first session.
With your permission, the tutor aligns with the class teacher on current topics and methods, so the language and layout your child meets in tutoring match the ones they meet in class.
Tutoring is educational support only. It does not replace clinical assessment, and we never promise particular maths outcomes. If you are seeking identification of dyscalculia, the usual route is the school’s learning-support team, then a qualified educational psychologist.
A clear boundary: Tutoring complements, and never replaces, clinical assessment. For identification of dyscalculia, we signpost families to qualified psychologists.
No. Dyscalculia is a specific difficulty with understanding numbers and maths concepts, unrelated to intelligence or effort. Identification is made by a qualified psychologist, not by tutors.
The difference is in method and starting point: concrete, visual teaching that rebuilds foundations at the child’s pace, rather than rehearsing the current school topic.
Sessions follow the standard rate card: Standard IDR 500,000, Advanced IDR 800,000 and Master IDR 1,000,000 per hour, confirmed in writing before the first session.
