School Refusal and Anxiety Tutor in Bali

Home-based tutoring for children experiencing anxiety or school refusal in Bali. We provide manageable academic support alongside the plans agreed with your child’s school and clinical professionals.

Who this support is for

School refusal — sometimes called emotionally based school avoidance — describes a child who finds attending school deeply distressing and stops going, not from defiance but from anxiety. Parents usually write when schoolwork is piling up, the school is asking questions, and home is currently the only place learning can happen.

We support children aged 4 to 17 across IB, Cambridge, UK, US and Australian programmes, whether the absence has lasted a fortnight or a full term.

How tutoring helps, and where it stops

Tutoring keeps learning alive while the bigger questions are worked out. A calm, consistent adult maintains curriculum progress at home, so that returning to school — whenever it happens — does not also mean facing a year of missed content.

We are tutors, not clinicians — we do not diagnose or treat anxiety. Where anxiety is affecting daily life, the right first step is a qualified child psychologist or counsellor, often alongside the school pastoral team. Tutoring sits beside that care; it does not substitute for it.

What villa sessions look like

Sessions happen at your home or villa, in a space your child chooses, with no audience and no uniform. Early hours are short and low-pressure, built around work your child can finish, and lengthen as confidence allows.

The routine is predictable: the same tutor, the same time, the same gentle structure. Where reintegration is the goal, sessions gradually introduce school-like elements such as timed tasks and fuller days, always at the child’s pace and in step with any plan agreed with the school or clinician.

Matching, school liaison and fees

We reply within one working day and confirm the expected time for your tutor profile after the discovery call. Temperament comes first: a calm educator used to anxious learners. You read the profile before the first session.

With your permission, the tutor can coordinate with the school, use current classwork and support an agreed return-to-school plan. Standard tutoring for children costs IDR 500,000 per hour. We discuss any specialist requirements and confirm the applicable rate in writing. If the first session is not right, tell us within 48 hours and we refund it in full.

Boundaries

Tutoring is educational support only. It does not replace clinical assessment, counselling or therapy, and we do not promise that tutoring alone will return a child to school. For diagnosis or treatment, we signpost families to qualified professionals.

A clear boundary: Tutoring complements clinical care for anxiety. It never replaces assessment or therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Will tutoring help my child return to school?

Tutoring maintains learning and routine, which often makes return easier, but we do not promise reintegration. The return plan belongs with you, the school and any clinician involved.

Can the tutor collect work from the school?

With your permission and the school’s agreement, the tutor can follow the class curriculum so your child stays in step with peers.

Where do sessions take place?

At your home or villa, or online. Your written quote confirms travel arrangements and any additional cost for your address.

How quickly can we start?

We reply within one working day and confirm the expected time for your tutor profile after the discovery call. We agree on the first session once you have reviewed the profile and confirmed the arrangements.

What if the tutor is not the right fit?

Tell us and we change the plan or the tutor. First-session refund terms apply if you notify us within 48 hours.

Where can I see school-refusal tutoring rates?

Full tiers and terms are on the pricing guide. Your rate is confirmed in writing before the first session.

How does this relate to emotional-behavioural support?
