After-school tutoring in Bali

After-school tutoring at your home or villa, planned around homework, current topics and upcoming assessments. A regular weekly session gives your child focused support while protecting time for rest and family life.

Who after-school tutoring is for

After-school tutoring is for families who want the school week to run more calmly. The child who comes home tired and stalls over homework. The family new to Bali, still finding its rhythm. The student who is coping in class but would thrive with one steady adult reviewing the week beside them.

It suits children aged 4 to 17 across every curriculum we support: IB, Cambridge IGCSE, A-Level, UK, US and Australian programmes, and Kurikulum Merdeka. What it adds is not a third curriculum but a routine: the same tutor, the same hour, the same table, week after week.

Weekly routines that stick

The most valuable thing an after-school tutor builds is not a worksheet; it is a habit. A fixed session after school, a clear order for the evening’s work, a bag packed the night before. Children who learn to run their own week stop needing to be chased through it.

Your tutor plans a manageable routine with you and your child, including lesson days, session length and priorities. A consistent schedule can make expectations clearer and give the family a practical way to review whether homework support is helping.

Homework support versus tutoring

These are related but different, and it is worth choosing honestly. Homework support means an adult beside your child as the school’s own assignments get done: planning the evening, explaining the stuck parts, checking the finished work. Tutoring means teaching: finding the gap underneath the stuck homework and closing it, whether or not any homework is due.

Most after-school briefs blend the two. A session might open with the week’s assignments and close with fifteen minutes rebuilding the maths concept that made Tuesday’s homework hard. Where a deeper gap needs subject-specialist teaching, we say so and suggest a dedicated subject tutor alongside or instead.

Exam preparation blocks

After-school sessions can flex around the school calendar. In ordinary weeks they hold the routine. In the run-up to IGCSE, IB or school examinations, the same slot becomes a preparation block: past papers, timed practice, and revision planned backwards from the exam date.

School holidays are the other useful window. A short holiday block can close a specific gap or prepare for a curriculum change without touching term-time evenings at all.

Packages and scheduling

Scheduling is flexible and arranged around your family: after school, early evening, or weekends where a tutor is available. Most families settle on one or two fixed sessions a week. There is no minimum booking and no long-term contract; you can stop after any session.

Standard after-school tutoring for children is IDR 500,000 per hour. Prepaid packages receive 5 percent off 10 sessions, 10 percent off 20 and 15 percent off 40. We confirm the appropriate service, rate and any travel costs in writing before booking. Specialist requirements are discussed individually.

How it works

Every engagement starts with a complimentary 30-minute discovery call on WhatsApp. You tell us about your child: the school, the curriculum, and what afternoons and evenings currently look like. We propose a tutor whose subject knowledge, personality and schedule fit the brief, and you receive the tutor’s written profile before the first session. After the discovery call, we confirm tutor availability and the expected time for your written profile.

After each session you receive a short note: what was covered, how your child responded, and what to reinforce before next time. Every four weeks a fuller progress summary arrives. If the first session is not right, tell us within 48 hours and we refund it in full.

Frequently asked questions

How is after-school tutoring different from subject tutoring?

Subject tutoring teaches one subject in depth. After-school tutoring holds the whole week: homework routines, organisation and steady review across subjects, with subject specialists brought in where a deeper gap appears.

How many sessions a week do families usually book?

Most settle on one or two fixed sessions. After the first weeks we give you an honest recommendation based on how your child is responding, and it is a recommendation, not a sales target.

Can sessions move when the school calendar changes?

Sessions are scheduled around your family and can flex for exams, holidays and trips. Cancel or reschedule free of charge with 24 or more hours’ notice; sessions cancelled with less notice are charged in full.

Where do sessions take place?

At your home or villa, with travel arrangements confirmed in writing, or online when your family travels.

How quickly can we start?

After the discovery call, we confirm tutor availability and the expected time for your written profile.

What does after-school tutoring cost?

Sessions are billed per hour: Standard IDR 500,000, Advanced IDR 800,000 or Master IDR 1,000,000, depending on the brief. Prepaid blocks receive a discount, and the exact rate is confirmed in writing before the first session. See the pricing guide.

What if the tutor is not the right fit?

Tell us. We change the plan or the tutor. That is part of how we run the placement. First-session terms are in the refund policy.
