Who this support is for

Intellectual disability affects the pace and complexity of learning across subjects. Children still make progress when teaching is concrete, repeated and broken into finishable steps.

This page is for parents seeking academic teaching that respects their child’s learning profile across IB, Cambridge, UK, US, Australian or adapted pathways.

How tutoring helps, and where it stops

Tutors use visual supports, short instructions, overlearning and real-life contexts for literacy and numeracy. Goals are realistic and written with you.

We are tutors, not clinicians — we do not diagnose or treat. Medical and psychological assessment belong with qualified professionals.

What sessions look like

Sessions are calm and predictable. Tasks are few and completable. Success is recorded visibly so progress is obvious to the child and to you.

Where the school uses an adapted curriculum, tutoring follows that pathway rather than inventing a parallel one.

Boundaries

Tutoring is educational support only. It does not replace clinical care or therapy, and we do not promise developmental milestones.

A clear boundary: Tutoring complements clinical care. For assessment, we signpost qualified professionals.

Frequently asked questions

Do you follow my child’s school IEP?

Where you share it, the tutor works from those goals. Where none exists, we agree simple written goals with you.

Can sessions include life skills?

When life skills support literacy or numeracy goals, tutors can include them. Pure therapy or clinical programmes are outside our role.

Where do sessions take place?

At your home or villa, or online. Your written quote confirms travel arrangements and any additional cost for your address.

How quickly can we start?

We reply within one working day and confirm the expected time for your tutor profile after the discovery call. We agree on the first session once you have reviewed the profile and confirmed the arrangements.

What if the tutor is not the right fit?

Tell us and we change the plan or the tutor. First-session refund terms apply if you notify us within 48 hours.

Where can I see intellectual-disability tutoring rates?

Full tiers and terms are on the pricing guide. Your rate is confirmed in writing before the first session.

How does this relate to Down syndrome support?
